So, we had a recent trip to the Georgia Aquarium. We all had a wonderful time! What amazed me the most, when looking at all the different sea life, was just how much attention to detail God paid to create each and every one! Down to the very last Coral. The kids learned alot from their experience about the ocean life, and also about preserving it. Nothing better than seeing a science assignment with your own eyes, ears and touch.
The Jelly-fish has always been my personal favorite(along with the sea otters and Baluga whale).
The kids enjoyed having their aunt, uncle and cousins come down from NC for a visit and they went with us.
We lucked out and ended up finding tickets for $15 vs. $30 thanks to the research of Aunt Tracy:)
Sea Horses:
Daddy could have done without the big crowd(seems as though we weren't the only ones with the $15 tickets!...lol) but really enjoyed it!
The kids said they would like to get "scuba" certified now, so they can partake in the scuba portion of the aquarium. What would be cooler than seeing the whale shark up close and personal! (I think!...lol)
The kids favorite part! Being able to pet the Stingrays and hammerhead shark!
We did feel a little sorry for the Baluga Whale...he/she was all by herself, and we found out that they are not solitary animals. He would just swim back and forth around his tank...but he was quite beautiful!!
We have also started this week, our history for the year...we will be going through two books..both with projects stemming from each.
History Stories For Children:
...and....
Exploring American History:
My idea is to approach it like a unit study and center lots of learning around each story:)
Well, time to get these kids rollin' for the day...The weather is just beautiful, and I definatly feel Fall in the air!
Until next time,
Mama B
